Description

Sopot was granted city rights in 1901.

It is a typical tourist place and its main attraction is certainly the famous and longest pier in Europe. It is 512 metres long and made of wood.

Since 2005, the pier in Sopot has been named after John Paul II – given after Karol Wojtyla’s visit twice in 1987.

The yacht marina, which is located at the pier, is so wide that it can accommodate as many as 100 vessels (40 boats up to 14 metres long or 60 yachts up to 10 metres long). This change came about after a refurbishment that was completed in 2011.

In addition, Sopot has the Forest Opera (an amphitheatre in the forest complex of the Oliwa Forest), which has a capacity of 5047 spectators (seated), including standing places – 5579.

This is a great gift idea for travel and tourist city lovers.
