What is our Mandala?
No one will answer this question better than the symbol theorist Marie-Louise:
The need to create a mandala arises at times of intense personal development. Their appearance indicates that there is a deep process of balancing going on in the psyche. The result of this process is a more complex and better integrated personality. The mandala serves a conservative purpose – namely to restore a pre-existing order. But it also serves the creative purpose of expressing and shaping something that does not yet exist, something new and unique … The process is a spiral that goes upward while returning to the same point.
